Many observable aspects of reality seem to indicate a cyclic pattern. Why has not a simple theory of a cyclic universe been submitted?

Waves are cyclic, seasons are cyclic, life is cyclic. A cyclic theory of a Big Bang ending up at a Big Crunch could easily explain why older galaxies closer to the Big Crunch are accelerating...
