I am interested in tools for meta-analysis, is anyone aware of programs (user written or otherwise) for meta-analysis in Stata?

I am aware of metan, but it not clear to me that this package is very user friend if one is interested in examining/pooling correlation effect sizes that are common in psychology or business...
