I'm functionalizing my silica(MCM-41)with APTS to obtain amine terminal groups and the material is turning pink.Is this normal and why does it happen?

for the functionalizantion I add anhydrous ethanol, the silica MCM-41 and APTS at reflux at a temperature of 78°C
