Is "slit width" sometimes used instead of "bandwidth" in spectroscopy?

My spectrofluorometer has options for 2.5, 5, and 10 nm "slit widths." Does this mean the actual physical width of the slit in the instrument? (seems impossibly small) Or is this term used to mean...
