Is there any effective transfection protocol for cells cultured in 3D hydrogels?

I would like to transfect micro-RNA mimics in 3D models. Lipofectamine RNAimax works well in monolayer cultures but I couldn't find convincing evidence it could work sufficiently well in 3D.
