Is it possible to obtain Time-Gated Emission/Excitation spectra for Near Infra-Red (NIR) emitting lanthanides? Also how do we monitor their lifetimes?

In many commercially available spectrofluorometers, gating for the NIR channel is unavailable. This makes obtaining time gated spectra or the lifetimes of IR emitting lanthanides difficult.
