I have my thesis written (Vancouver) format. How sync? Mendeley starts the references by number 1 and do not follow the order that is already there?

I have my thesis written manually and everything is on Vancouver format. How can I sync Mendeley with my work? Everytime I start using Mendeley in this document the program starts the references...
