The regression weight from one independent variable to a mediator variable is .98 (near 1) in SEM; is this a problem?

I have checked collinearity using Regression analysis (Tolerance and VIF) and the correlation between the independent variable and mediator is .66. Apparently, it is not a collinearity case.
