How do I calculate the reduction in diameter of a steel sphere (having a 4.7 mm diameter) when firmly held in a vice with force F?

The vice has two flat and parallel jaws, and the force F of the vice upon each side of this sphere does NOT compress the sphere beyond its elastic limit.
