Hi everyone! I am running CatPCA on SPSS and I need a little help. Why do you need to do quantification on ordinal/nominal variables running catPCA??

some internet examples use the variables as they are but some use transformed forms and pick 'spline ordinal or nominal'. I did that and it gave no difference Thank you for any help!
