If we heated sulfur under N2 purging, what type of gas will produced? And which is the suitable solvent to dissolve it?

In my case, I will insert a boat full of sulfur powder into a tube furnace, and I will purge N. So, I want to avoid the gasses contaminate the environment. Thanks in advance.
