If a sub-problem (which is a part of a main problem) is NP-Complete, does it mean that the main problem will be NP-Complete as well?

Let, I have a problem "C" Which is consists of two sub-problem A and B. If A or B or both is NP-complete, does it make C also NP-Complete?
