Is serum starvation of differenciated 3T3-L1 adipocytes before inducing lipolysis with isoproterenol a good method to synchronize the cells?

I am thinking of doing serum starvation of my 3T3-L1 adipocytes in order to synchronise them. Is it a good idea? And what are your protocols? Thanks in advance!!
