Why does it seem East Asian countries grow so much faster economically once they start growing than most part of Asia? Why are they called miracles?

Many reasons could be listed here, including natural resources, geographical factors, institutions, labor market, culture and so on. Unfortunately, none of them can provide a thorough explanation.
