If the metal oxide forms a perfect cubical structure with exposed plane 100 and in that case remaining planes will not be exposed. Under this condition X-ray diffraction peak of 100 plane will be prominent. In the other hand when cubical will convert into octahedron structure. Including 100 will get other plane diffraction peaks.
Question: Whether this is right when structure is perfect cubical will give only one diffraction of particular plane. And the 111 or other plane diffraction peak will appear or not?
the powder diffraction pattern will contain all peaks. Actually, the (integrated) intensity of each peak will not change if you change the shape and you keep the volume of the object constant. The only change you will observe is in the shape of the peaks (that can be calculated analytically in those simple cases).
My suggestion in any case, is that you have a look at a good book on crystallography and one on diffraction: the fact some planes are "exposed" (or that you have a certain crystal habit) has little to do with the fact that the peak with the same Miller indices is present or not
