The color of my media, such XLD and Mannitol salt agar, become kinda lighten after putting into refrigerator equipping with fans.
XLD was originally hazy bright red after heating and sterilization, but it became kinda orange after putting into refrigerator about 3days
but it'll return to hazy bright red if we place it back at the room temperature (20-25 oC) in 3 hours!
Does anyone can help me solve this problem ?
Does it have something to do with pH or air in the refrige which leads to the color of change ?

I think it simply has to see with the temperature. Phenol red is red in basic solutions and yellow in acid solutions. In colder solutions, there are more H3O+ and phenol red lightens.
