Articles have been calculated in the Research Gate and have not been calculated in google scholar.
Conversely, Google scholar is competent to calculate all citations in the different journals, but I think the scale of the calculation is different

Good question - I have often thought about this. Citation rates in Google scholar always seem to be greater. They include citations in other works to RG like PhD theses. I am not sure also if RG includes citations in books, whereas Google scholar does. I feel RG gate citations may only come from mentions in scientific journals and book chapters uploaded on RG itself. But I am not entirely sure about this.
