Hello,
I have installed Gromacs's latest 2021 version on my computer. In the file directory that I used to build everything, when I type gmx, it opens up the program. However, when I open up a separate ubuntu terminal and type in gmx, apparently it does not exist. I have tried to follow the path to the directory it is in and it still shows up that it does not exist. I am afraid to close the first terminal window that does have Gromacs open in case I lose that too. Would anyone happen to know why this is happening and how I can fix this?
You likely have to source it first.

The last step given is:
source /usr/local/gromacs/bin/GMXRC
The same thing happened to me when I started using gromacs. You can just add that line to your .bashrc file and it will automatically source it when you open a terminal
Hi. you must before anything source the path containing the GMXRC which is commonly placed in /usr/local/gromacs/bin.
