Why is backflow occuring in absorption vessel? during acid digestion pre-treatment?

I am using nitric acid and perchloric acid 1:3 mixture for the digestion. But about a hour after hitting, the 0.5M nitiric acid is overflowing in the absorption vessel...

What's the cause of that?
