In the compound Na3V2(PO4)3, vanadium is in +3 state. It oxidized to +4 state at 3.4V approximately, with Na/Na+. V4+to V5+ redox may also happen if vanadium is substituted with other ions like Mn2+, Al3+, Cr3+ etc. However, V4+to V5+ redox is not seen in the pristine compound. What is the reason behind this?
