I'm trying to calibrate the spectrometer by its a standard sample but some wavelengths don't detect and the out of range data appear on the monitor. What kind of problem may be happened?
What kind of standard solution and of what concentration are you using?
The problem may be in the set maximum y-axis of the instrument. You can either autoscale y-axis or increase the y-axis value to get the complete absorbance peak data.
If that does not help, high concentration of standard solution may be a problem. Try diluting the standard solution with its solvent and carefully note the dilution factor. Say, you have diluted 1 ml of solution into total volume of 3 ml, dilution factor will be 1/3.
If you are trying to measure concentration of unknown samples through this standard solution. Then multiply the observed concentration with dilution factor to get the original concentration.
It's an arc spectrometer and has some problems in detecting elements. I don't exactly know what the problem is. I guess it refers to detectors that can't detect elements.
