Hi, everyone.

My experimental data showed that under natural conditions, lignin (acid unhydrolyzable residue measured using the acid detergent digestion method) accumulated in the early stage of leaf leaves decomposition. As you know, most previous studies reported that lignin usually accumulates due to the synthesis of phenols in the late stage of decomposition. But, how about the early stage of decomposition? Why does lignin accumulate in the early stage of decomposition?

Thanks for your answers and comments.

Sincerely,
