If I understand you, Cristina, you are questioning the practice of blaming the victim of gender-based violence against women and girls and the existence of little or no gender awareness education of boys to prevent such violence in the first instance. I would say: ignorance and gender illiteracy abound, plus religious fundamentalism by which many justify these practices. Fortunately, awareness is gradually growing through the work of some frontline scholars and activists in this area.
Probably it is only another collective manifestation of gender asymmetry, but I think, like Rose Nkechi Uchem, that nowadays gender awareness is improving also in men and boys.
Es real que hoy en día la sociedad se centra más en castigar a los agresores, haciendo poco o nada para evitar que sigan reproduciéndose estas prácticas violentas hacia la mujer.
Es vital para acabar con esto que se lleven a cabo programas y proyectos en los que la sociedad instruya a los jóvenes en este tema. Les de respuesta ante por qué ocurre, por que no debería de seguir existiendo y por qué una mujer tiene igualdad ante ellos en todos los sentidos.
