My extract has naphthoquinones and phenolics but I couldn't detect the same in UV.
Naphthoquinones must absorb in the UV. Your extract does not absorb; then you do not have them.-
@Teodoro:Thanks for your response, However my extract contains a lot of naphthoquinones which is confirmed by preliminary screening as well as from previously published researches on the same plant species.
Aromatic ring with some double bonds conjugated to the ring- it will absorb in the UV.
Either something is blocking the absorption, or the wrong wavelengths are being used, or the instrument isn't functioning well.
Make sure the sample isn't too concentrated too.
If you are unsing HPLC, it looks like you have a problem with your detector.

Check the solvent cut off for UV absorption. You will not see peaks below the solvent cut off.
