I have to set up a private cloud in my University. And have to offer services for around 3000 students and 500 staffs. Currently we have eleven rack servers with 50+ TB storage. Which one shall I be using to set up a private cloud? OpenStack or Eucalyptus?
Two years ago, we set up a private cloud of similar (a little smaller) scale than what you describe in our university as well. TL;DR is that Eucalyptus was an utter disaster, while OpenStack is working rather smoothly for us since 1.5 years.

I would recommend to go with OpenStack vs Eucalyptus. this is mainly because of the customizability and range of option OpenStack provides ranging from the choice of the bridge driver to authentication schema.
