I came across APS publishing the names of the Outstanding Referees (http://publish.aps.org/OutstandingReferees) every year! This is very encouraging and are there any other journals which do this way?
Nalam this is very pertinent question. Thank you for bringing it.
I am not aware of Journals who do publish reviewrs' name.
For the sake of transparency I do believe that every article must be "disc lured" with the names of the reviewers that approved the article...in the same way/philosophy that an authors is supposed to declare any confict of interest.
I am naively(?!?!) surprised that this is not the case?
What the are other science opinons on this issue?
@ reviewers: do you mind that your name would be mentioned on an article yo approved?
Thanks for your replies to my query. I think my question was misunderstood. What I was saying was about the journals which publish the names of reviewers in one of their issues in a year as a token of appreciation and definitely not disclosing their names with the details of articles that they have reviewed. You must have noticed that some journals do this. In one of their closing issues in a year, they publish the names of all reviewers who have assisted them in reviewing their articles in that particular year as a token of appreciation. I saw that it was good and wanted to know various journals which practice this. Hope i am clearer. I will edit the question to remove any confusion for future readers. Thanks.
A very happy, prosperous and successful new year 2013 to both of you and all others at RG!
Dear Mihai Craiu, Thanks for your useful sharing. I think every journal should publish the names of the reviewers annually so that the reviewers will get some recognition and satisfactions for their services.
There is an advantage that I see knowing the list of such reviewers. If anybody (Regular Editors or Guest Editors) looks for reviewers, these lists helps as a good resource...
