Which are the most Relevant Schools regarding informal settlements or slums (for example Chicago School )?

I am doing a research regarding informal settlement concept changing through the recent decades.

Just name the schools and most famous theories as well as theorists and if possible the reference literature.

Guess the most famous school now is the World Bank School :). Kind of hard to group them in „schools” for me, but I like this marxist guy: John Turner. http://www.spatialagency.net/database/john.turner

Maybe Hassan Fathy (Architecture for the poor) could be assigned to a rural school alongside Samuel Mockbee (Rural Studio).
