Hi everyone,
AlSi10Mg and Al7075 both are heat treatable (precipitation hardenability ) alloy. Out of these two which alloy has a higher strength and why?
Definitely 7075. Al-Zn-Mg-Cu systems can dissolve much more solute than Al-Si-Mg systems. Therefore, the number of precipitates that contribute to strengthening is much larger in 7XXX than in any other system.
Thanks Prof Murat for your kind reply. It was helpful.
Thanks to A.Prof Bsher as well.
