What will happen if the PhD student exceeded tha maximum number of years?
the maximum period of a full-time PhD student in the UK and Ireland is five years, but what will happen if the student did not finish the thises?
will s/he be asked to leave the university without a degree?
Will he be given a master degree?
Will he allowed to extend his period time until he finish?

It depends upon the prevailing rules and regulations of the university
In certain situations the registration will be cancelled and ask the students for reregistration of the doctorate degree
My kind suggestion is try to complete with in stipulated period maximum up to 5 yrs and may be extended for another 2 to 3 yes

Depend to the university rules and regulations. Unless your thesis, they found really good and need some more year to do research, sure they will consider your extension to proceed your PhD. All decisions are in your SV's hand. Whether you will be terminated from the study or continue. But SV really want you to complete within the period as per university requirement. Full fill all the university requirement and submit your thesis. Recommend comes from your SV. No university wanted to terminate the students unless the students are not committed in the study and serious.
