what were the short comings of classical routing protocols in WSN. What was the need of developing intelligent routing protocols( like Protocols with swarm intelligence, reinforced learning, fuzzy logic etc..) Are intelligent routing better then classical routing protocols if yes then why?
Routing in WSN’s remain a challenge for researchers as various classical protocols lacks on energy efficiency ,fault tolerance or on scalability. Researchers around the world have developed some robust protocols based on Computational Intelligence (CI), which provide optimal solutions to the these problems.
Why? because WSN has its own requierement. First, power. Second, routing in WSN is simpler than ad hoc because you have only one targit 'sink node'. your job is to find it and rout data to there. Third, nodes must send data in rounds whuch mean nodes will always send data. forth, no enough space for routing tables. if you search you will find alot of req's
