Title: impact of Government's intervention schemes on SMEs's access to finance in Nigeria.
The paper seeks to provide answers to the following questions:
i. Are SMEs aware of the various intervention schemes in place?
ii. Have the schemes reduced the complexities in SME loans application processes?
iii. Have the schemes reduced the issue of cost of accessing funds experienced by SMEs?
iv. Is there increase in the number of loans granted to SMEs?
v. Are the loans amount sufficient for SMEs’ development?
The primary objectives are to find out:
i. If SMEs are aware of the various intervention schemes put in place by the government
ii. If the schemes have reduced the complexities in SME loans application processes
iii. If the schemes have reduced the cost of accessing funds by SMEs
iv. If there is an increase in the number of loans granted to SMEs
v. If the loans amount are sufficient for SMEs’ development
HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY
H0 – SMEs owners are not aware of the various intervention Schemes put in place by the government
H0 – The intervention schemes have not reduced the complexities in SME loans application processes
H0 - The schemes have not reduced the cost of accessing funds by SMEs
H0 – There is no increase in number of loans granted to SMEs
H0 – The loans amount are not sufficient for SMEs’ development
