Good day. From my perspective, research gap, such as food safety, should attract the interest of researchers and academics all over the world, especially in Africa. Food safety can relate with smart agriculture, artificial intelligence technique, big data, digital village and rural sustainability and rural revitalization. However, the modern techniques mentioned above can assist African countries to feed their people and meet the issues, such as poverty, employment etc.

It is our task and responsibility, as researchers, to employ the proper and appropriate research methodology to fill the research gap of low-income countries' food systems in a bid to offer policies and advice for policy-makers and stakeholders in African and other low-income countries.

Low-income countries, in my opinion, need adequate financial sources. Money is one of the most significant resources for every research project because it is impossible to do quality and unbiased study without it.

This is very important question. In my opinion, all of the things mentioned above are crucial and needs deeper understanding. Also, having a closer look at the specific food groups and nutrients that people eat, the drivers for doing so, and the environmental impacts of those specific diets. On the other hand, it is important to see how governments or local policy-makers are addressing sustainable healthy diets at a specific local scale.

I suppose the enhancement of research on climate resilient crops and the need to lower the carbon footprint in the food production systems.

Dear Ermiyas Mulu: The gaps are varied and all vital for further research as mentioned above however, the fundamental gap resides with the lack of financial resources which in most cases is the primary cause and other challenges presented as the symptoms.

Dear Ermiyas Mulu, Their is a wide gap on food security most especially in Nigeria due to farmers and herders clashes.

Dear Ermias,

"Food safety" may be among the top priority gaps in "food system" of low income countries like Ethiopia.
