your point view what is about Indian Education System and what are the development must be need to increasing quality of education in India...........?
The world has reformed fast but the education system is still embryonic. It is based on the antediluvian systems which were articulated decades ago. An education system needs to be framed which inspires students. This will facilitate them to learn what is required. The practical, theory and vocational erudition need to be hoard in the curriculum. The system is universal for all types of students which do not allow the students to work according to their capabilities. Every student has a different aim and capability. So, all the students cannot have a common way of learning. A system should be designed to empower the students to choose their own aspirations and dreams. They should be encouraged to do what they appreciate and what they want to be in life. Teachers should encourage and assist students in evolving and respond to the different needs of the students. The learning should be meaningful and worthwhile.
A revived education system can bring a crucial change in the economic climate globally. Students will find tough recruitment market in the future. The coming generations of students are not ready to accept the outmoded education system. We need students with enthusiasm and creativity. They should have know-how of how to lead. Classroom teaching cannot teach practical learning. It cannot buy experience. Learning in firms, factories and workshops can be introduced in the curriculum to enable the students to have a feel of practical world. Education should consist of life skill, experience, team work and problem solving. These skills should be taught explicitly. These need to be asserted through practical activities linked to academic subjects and vocational trainings. The emphasis should be on future options including visits to workplaces, colleges and universities, workshops, factories and hearing from those who have already made careers in various fields.
The parents and students should work together to understand the interests, strengths and aspirations of the students. Students should be supported to choose according to their interests and abilities. This needs to be done differently balancing the theoretical and practical learning. There should be three types of learnings. First academic and theory based. Another based on practical learning. Third will be blend of theory and practicals. Emphasis should be laid on the interests of the students. The students should be given an option which type they want to choose depending upon their interests and aspirations. The students who opt for vocational and practical courses should be taught in specialist facilities or specialist institutions and by appropriately experienced staff. This way the students will get a professional and excellent education. Vocational subjects should be taught by experienced professionals who should be proficient, experienced and properly trained. The students could specialize in their chosen fields, they should be able to change their fields and employ with trainings, which should be recognized by the employers. Students should be given an opportunity to work in apprenticeship.
The practical and vocational courses should reflect the demands of latest workplaces, factories and firms. The employers should keep an eye on the ways these trainings and courses are held. A specific period should be allocated in which these courses will be held with proper guidance and support from mentors. It is not possible to reform education system overnight but in order to bring transformation we need to change the basic principles. The approach is to be completely changed to bring quality academic learning. The students should have access to the websites where they can find training routes and use blogs to discuss careers with the experts who have experienced it. They need to learn the employability skills and emergence of schools, colleges and universities which build learning and learning around core skills and capabilities.
There need to be a development of the new skills in the form of diplomas, apprenticeship and practical and vocational qualifications. A commitment from institutes to deliver the right facilities and right people such as experienced teachers and technical staff is the requirement. Degrees need to be developed truly with employers with new initiatives including value-based learning. A change in attitude should be recognized. This needs the support of parents, entrepreneurs and institutions.
