Quantum computers is very relevant in manufacturing systems engineering. Quantum computers provide the future with high-performance computing and perhaps, will even replace classical or traditionak computers. Quantum computers could make calculations in days or hours that would take a regular computer thousands of years to complete.

The speed of quantum computing will be useful when the manufacturing segment completely moves towards smart manufacturing where it need to have high level of real time interaction of cyberspace with manufacturing systems and when more amount of data to be processed in real time for decision making.
