What is the reason that we see some MNC's in the BoP market, but few SMEs? And can some of the export performance theories / models that companies adhere to, be causing this? Scientific articles and books with these theories would be perfect to support answers.

Dear Ardian Jaf, I think it is due to SME's scale, and they're privately owned. They;re sometimes have no access to finance and government's link.. SME's have to improve their quality, build their capacity and stick together to have a bigger scale to be seen in BoP market.
There are many SMEs in the BOP market, but the reason we do not see them in official statistics is because they are unregistered enterprises operating in the informal economy. There is now a vast literature on informal sector entrepreneurship in the BOP. Look, for example, at Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice over the past few years.
