I have heard that the gypsum capping on a concrete cube with the size of 150*150*150 mm must not be too thick. I would like to hear form others who may have used it before.

Usually gypsum cap thickness be limited to between 3 and 6 mm. Lower values for higher cube strengths and vice versa. In general a 5 mm thickness would be alright.

For getting better result kept the thickness as 3 mm. Using a glass plate level the gypsum cap top surface.
