What is the mechanism behind the usage of salty water by halophiles are there any other type of bacterias which can be used for the separation of salts from sea watet
Halophiles are salt-loving organisms that flourish in saline environments. As I think it can live in high salt concentration habitat. So change salty water to normal, I think no!!!!!!!!!!??????
Samy Selim is correct, halophiles merely tolerate the salt, they don't change it or remove it. They have strong pumps reduce the intracellular salt concentration inside.
Halophiles are organisms that thrive in high salt concentrations. Halophiles are found in three domains of life. Within the bacteria we know halophiles within the phyla Cyanobacteria, Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, spirocheates and bacteriodetes . They are also found within the Archaea and within the order Methanococci. Halophilic microorganism use two strategies to balance their cytoplasm osmotically .with their medium. The first involves accumulation of malar concentrations of KCl. The second strategy is to exclude salt from the cytoplasm and to synthesize and/or accumulate organic compatible solutes that do not interfere with enzymatic activities. They however cannot change salt concentration or remove salt. For more details consult https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov or Saline Systems. 2008: 4: 2
