What is the procedure to incorporate damage iniatiation and evolution criteria in abaqus?

abaqus property incorporation regarding tensile test

Hi,

There are several damage initiation and evolution criterion available in literature. The way to incorporate these in ABAQUS, is to program those equations and material models as UMATs in Abaqus. UMAT is essentially a user defined material sub routine which allows you the flexibility in modeling the strain evolution, elastic modulus change, and pretty much everything about your material behavior
