Carbon nanowires have an enormous range of applications from conductivity to tensile strength. In spite of that they are not available readily for laboratory experiments. Are there any methods that can be used to produce nanowire easily?
Thanks for your answer Simon, Recently I come across with a procedure for graphene oxide synthesis at 70 C in Copper pipe from sugar solutions, similar process or method if any available for carbon nanowire growth ?
Best route to grow precise carbon nanowires on preselected areas is by catalytic CVD or catalytic chemical vapour deposition. If this can be performed at low temperatures, it is much better .... as shown in the following link: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/236183277_Efficient_coupling_of_optical_energy_for_rapid_catalyzed_nanomaterial_growth_High_quality_carbon_nanotube_synthesis_at_low_substrate_temperatures
