The source where I cited this info used Brown, G. (1977) in the references. But, this info is not available in Brown, G. I really need to know the original source.
Some certain reasons for incorporating poetry into language curriculum owing to its unique characteristics as memorability, rhytmicality, recitability, ambiguity, universality, reactional, motivation and interaction.
You can send the phrase to Google Scholar, but you HAVE to spell "rhythmicality" correctly for it to work. (It has 2 h's in it.)
Petrus (2012) cites Maley (1987) who cites Brown as a reference for only the word "rhythmicality". So Alan Maley can be regarded as the source for the complete list in his chapter 8.
