Nanotechnology is the branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometres, especially the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules. However, there are concerns as to whether the wine industry could benefit from this technology in the future.

Possibilities are certainly thinkable, but due to the enormous quantities and speed that wine is being processed all over the world, it would only be viable in very specific needed niches (probably most often where problems need to be corrected and in such cases it is doughtfull if it would be financial beneficial).
