They are different types of models. In SUMO, vehicles move following car-following model, while in MATSim, which is a multi-agent micro simulation, vehicles move following certain bottleneck type model (I am not completely sure). MATSim is more suitable for studying traffic demand management, while SUMO maybe for traffic congestion mechanism.

you used to sumo simulator for traffic model vehicle. and change to tcl file with ns2 simulation and make result.
