while simulating my simulink model of DTC of Five phase induction machine with null vectors or without null vectors there is no effect on output voltage waveform of inverter .
so are these null vectors necessary ?
null vectors in DTC (Direct Torque Control) are used to soft transition from a switching state to other state. also, to be ensure of short-circuit result of delay turn-off time power switches, null vectors are applied.

To add to what Tohid mentions, the null vectors are extremely useful in creation of fractional vector effects, if required. These are generally difficult to achieve by the fixed vectors alone.
