This is the definition of modulus of compression:
The ratio of mechanical stress to strain in an elastic material when that material is being compressed; it is the modulus of elasticity applied to a material under compression:modulus of compression = compressive force per unit area/change in volume per unit volume
Whether a test is done in tension or compression, the definitions are:
- Modulus: Ratio of stress to strain
- Strength: ultimate stress that could be resisted by the material
To complement the previous answers I want to mention the "flexural modulus" or "bending modulus". I used it to describe the change of the stress-strain-relation / the softening / the stiffness degradation of concrete within my project "CC-technology".

Modulus of compression represents the ratio of compressive stress and strain. It relates both stress and strain of the material
Compressive strength is nothing but it is alarm point in the form of stress in any material being compressed and before of plastic failure.
In simple words modulus of compression deals with both stress and strain
and compression strength represents based on stress alone. thats it no other major differences with these.
