I have used UV data and have drawn Tauk plot using Tauk equation. From the plot by drawing tangent I have just got the Direct and Indirect band gap value. Now I want to know what is the application of this Direct and Indirect band gap value. I am a beginer just enrolled in Phd.please explain thanks in advance.

Direct band-gap is usefull to determinate the possible application of materials. In optics, specific values of band-gap are required for materials with applications in optoelectronic decives such as OLEDs, or active layers in organic solar cells.
