Hi,

I was studying RACH procedure in WCDMA. I came to know that RACH procedure in WCDMA follows Slotted ALOHA approach with fast acquisition indication. From acquisition indication, i understand that when UE sends RACH request to nodeB, nodeB replies back to the request whether the RACH request is accepted or not on AICH channel. This reply is known as acquisition indication.

I tried searching through numerous books and papers but couldn't find its meaning.

What does "fast" signify here?

Thanks,

Dev
