I am an architecture student in the Philippines and I am currently doing some initial research for my thesis project under the theme of 'Megacity'. I would like to ask for some suggestions on projects that could go well with the theme.
It depends on your level of studies, which you didn't mention. I suppose, since your proposed theme is rather large-scaled, your thesis should more or less cover urban design issues, rather than pure architecture. Do you have a specific case study area in mind? Mega-cities are almost always considered equal with a bunch of high-rise buildings. Maybe you can focus on the architectural design of a high-rise compound.

Please check the website of Melbourne School of Design (MSD) on the University of Melbourne (Australia) website. I think they have a research specialization in this area.
Hi, you may need to specify your level of research as was suggested by Parapari. That way answers to your question would be more specific and helpful to guide your intend.
My reaction would be to first of all question whether mega-cities are a good thing or a bad thing; a useful thing, or something to avoid. Why would anyone want to live in a mega-city - and then again, why wouldn't everyone want to live there? Question everything. Assume nothing. Question your assumptions about what you presume to be correct. Look at existing mega-cities and figure out what makes them work, and also what makes them almost grind to a halt. Given the rate of human urbanisation over the last 30 years, we are going to see increasing levels of urbanisation over the next 30 years - let's make sure that we are doing it right. Mega-cities are an almost inevitable part of that answer - but are they the best answer? Is there some other way of building that we should be doing instead? Hope that helps....
