Look at the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS) developed by Salovey and colleagues (1995) to measure individual difference in the qualities of reflective mood experience.
=> The TMSS is composed of 3 subscales :
- Attention (perceived ability to attend to moods and emotions)
- Clarity (perceived ability to discriminate clearly among feelings)
- repair (perceived ability to regulate mood)

Thank you Laurence. I have tried to stay away from the trait construct as the literature seems to indicate it is too close to personality testing. Most of my work has been done with Mayer, Salovey, and Caruso's MSCEIT instrument.
