Does a dyadic wavelet decomposition imply that each decomposition level depicts edges that will be lost if the spatial resolution of the previous level is reduced by a factor of two?

It is a type of discrete wavelet transform. It means that each level of decomposition is done by filtering signals such that half of the input bandwidth is on the output.
