Is it possible to reach this kind of immortality until 2045?
The main science mega-project of the 2045 Initiative aims to create technologies enabling the transfer of a individual’s personality to a more advanced non-biological carrier, and extending life, including to the point of immortality. We devote particular attention to enabling the fullest possible dialogue between the world’s major spiritual traditions, science and society.
Honestly, I did not know about such a project. Thank you dear T.M.A. for showing this to us all.
A few years ago, there was a central article in the IEEE journal pointing out to the feasibility of the next technological singularity. Such a singularity was the interface chip-brain. In sum, the odds were as follows:
The optimists claim(ed) that such interface would be possible within 15-20 years, say by the year 2025-2030. The pessimists argued that such interface would be possible by the year 2050.
In historical terms, whether via the Avatar project, or the studies carried out by IEEE there seems to be no much time difference.
All in all, it' s fantastic panorama. I am on the side of the optimists.
(By the way, this does not have anything to do with "post-humanism"… just in case…).
